Ohio BMV, Athens Job and Family Services Team Up On Car Insurance Regulations
< < Back to ohio-bmv-athens-job-and-family-services-team-car-insurance-regulationsTwo Ohio organizations are taking creative measures to make sure state residents know about the need to have proper car insurance.
The Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and the Athens County Job and Family Services are distributing a flier throughout the state through methods like including them in food boxes for low-income residents.
An Athens County Job and Family Services spokesman says confusion about car insurance regulations is especially an issue for low-income families who have a difficult time affording it.
The flier says if you own an automobile that has current license plates, it must be insured even if you don't drive it.
In addition, it says you must be able to provide proof that you have insurance if you are driving the vehicle or if you receive a survey from the state in the mail asking about your insurance.
