Resurfacing Project To Begin On Route 33 East Next Week
< < Back to resurfacing-project-begin-route-33-east-next-weekThe Ohio Department of Transportation is expected to begin a road resurfacing project next week on U.S. Route 33 East.
The project will create a change in traffic pattern when entering 33 East from East State Street.
An ODOT spokesperson says traffic will be maintained, but warns residents to be prepared for traffic delays or stops during the morning, afternoon and evening commutes.
Cary Betzing, district construction engineer, said the purpose of the project is to reconstruct about 1100 feet of road.
"Our goal is to try and make a long lasting road surface for everybody so some of the full depth repairs that we did should help that out quite a bit," said Betzing. "A lot of that concrete pavement was pretty deteriorated, so we've replaced a lot of that old broken up concrete and will be able to overlay that and have a decent riding surface."
The project will continue to the State Route 682 exit from US 33 East and is expected to be completed by June 30.
