SE Ohio Businesses Join In Clean Energy Roundtable
< < Back to se-ohio-businesses-join-clean-energy-roundtableBusinesses in Athens County are invited to attend a conference today on the use of clean energy.
The Southeast Ohio Clean Energy Business Roundtable Series brings together leaders of clean energy who will serve as resources for companies interested in energy-related topics.
One of the speakers is the co-owner of Athens' Third Sun Solar, Geoff Greenfield.
Greenfield's company specializes in developing, designing, and building solar-electric projects and says he believes that now is the right time to switch to solar.
"The cost of solar has come down significantly, the cost of an overall system by more than a third over the last couple years. So it makes it that much more affordable," says Greenfield.
Greenfield says that one of his goals for the conference is to make people aware of the incentive that American Electric Power is offering to those who make the switch.
"They are supporting solar. We have done many systems with them so residences and small businesses and non-profits, if they are in the AEP territory, can take advantage of this financial support that will sometimes pay up to 50 percent of a systems cost," says Greenfield.
According to Greenfield, individuals and businesses should take advantage of the AEP incentive before it expires.
