Trimble Battles Fed Hock For Playoff Seeding

When looking at this matchup a week ago, playoff seeding, and second place in the TVC Hocking would be the big picture.
After a loss against Eastern this past Friday on senior night, Federal Hocking’s playoff chances have been diminished, while Trimble has secured their spot in the Division 6, Region 23 playoffs.
But this game is still important for both teams. As of today the Tomcats are fighting to have home field advantage for their first playoff game. A loss to Federal Hocking at home this week could force the Tomcats to go on the road for that playoff game.
On the other hand Federal Hocking still has a shot at finishing second in the league behind Wahama. A win for the Lancers would give them the same record in the league as Trimble at 6-2, and they would jump the Tomcats in the standings with the win. Also after a tough Senior Night loss, the Lancers are looking to finish the season with a huge.
Needless to say this season finale for both teams will be a battle of will, toughness, humility and resiliency. A key for both teams will be the play of their defenses.
Over the last six games, Trimble has not allowed a single point. But Federal Hocking has also been solid on defense. Before the tough loss to Eastern, the Lancers defense had a couple shut outs of their own, and haven’t given up double-digit points since week two.
Gridiron Glory Player of the Year candidate Konner Standley has been tremendous leading the Tomcats this season. He has over 20 total touchdowns and his versatility has given defenses nightmares. Lancer senior quarterback Kyle Jackson has also had an incredible year with over 1,000 yards through the air.
Last year the Tomcats shut out the Lancers 32-0 on their way to a playoff game. Will this year be more of the same? Or will the Lancers get a big win in this finale? These questions will be answered this Friday night in Glouster.
