Athens Dominates South Point
< < Back to athens-dominates-south-pointMonday night, Athens played host to the South Point Lady Pointers in a game that the Lady Bulldogs took over early and never looked back. The final score was 56-38 in favor of the Lady Bulldogs.
A key point to the Athens offense was Dominique Doseck who scored 23 points including three three-pointers and shot 4-of-6 from the foul line. Athens' defense also forced the Lady Pointers into nine second half turnovers.
South Point struggled shooting as they were forced to take many deep shots, which they did not convert. Abby Winkler was South Point’s leading scorer with 12 points.
The Lady Bulldogs played well on both sides of the ball tonight, keeping the Lady Pointers down by 20 points or more for most of the game.
Coach Horsley assured that despite losing multiple seniors last year that he is confident in this team and their ability. He also mentioned that once the team gets more comfortable together that will result in tougher play. He expects good things from these girls this year as they try to repeat last year’s success by winning the TVC-Ohio again.
The Bulldogs travels to Chillicothe next week where they will try to pick up their second win of the season.
