Alexander Loses Momentum To Logan
< < Back to alexander-loses-momentum-loganAfter blowing out White Oak on Saturday, the Alexander Lady Spartans were unable to make it two-straight wins, falling to Logan 46-22 on Monday night.
After a close first quarter yielded a 9-4 Logan lead, the Lady Chiefs were able to take control entering the second period. Utilizing a height advantage and a full-court press by an aggressive backcourt, Logan posted a shutout in the second quarter. Behind strong post play from Ashley Frasure, who led the Lady Chiefs with 14 points, Logan built a 14-point lead entering the half.
Alexander made a third quarter push behind senior Kaylee Koker who had eight points during the frame but it was too little, too late.. Unfortunately for the Lady Spartans, where they held the Lady Chiefs to 18 points in the first half, they gave up 28 in the second half giving Logan the 46-22 victory.
Alexander falls to 4-9 on the season and it doesn’t get any easier for the Lady Spartans who have to face off against Athens, Vinton County and Nelsonville-York in their next three games.
