Ohio Ranked 16th In CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Poll
< < Back to ohio-ranked-16th-collegeinsidercom-mid-major-pollThe Ohio Bobcats were ranked 16th with 278 votes in the recent CollegeInsider.com Men’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll released Monday.
Despite starting off Mid-American Conference play with two straight victories, the Bobcats dropped a spot in the Mid-Major poll, as 14-1 Stephen F. Austin, currently on a nine-game winning streak, jumped to 15th.
Ohio was ranked fifth in the CollegeInsider.com preseason polls with 569 votes, but has dropped 11 spots and is now three behind MAC foe, Akron. The Zips are entering this week 11-4 and are on a seven-game winning streak. Akron and Ohio are the only two MAC teams recognized in the Mid-Major poll and are also the highest ranked MAC teams in the RPI. The Bobcats are ranked 132nd, while Akron is ranked 82nd.
The Bobcats will continue MAC play this Wednesday against Northern Illinois and Saturday against the Toledo Rockets, both games at home. Akron will be playing Ball State at home on Wednesday and traveling to Kent State on Saturday.
