< < Back to project-widen-interstate-64-set-startA project to widen Interstate 64 in the Huntington area is set to begin in a couple of weeks.
The Division of Highways says the project will take place between Exit 11 and Exit 15.
The work will include adding a new lane in both directions near the median, as well as installing a median concrete barrier and replacing the Cedar Crest bridge with a new six-lane structure.
Work is scheduled to start on March 11, with prep work starting Monday.
One lane will be closed in both directions between 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Speeds will be reduced to 50 miles-per-hour during the construction.
The project is expected to be finished by Sept. 28, 2014.
