Two Ohio Divers Qualify For Final Round Of NCAA Zone Championships

The Ohio University Swimming and Diving Team sent two Bobcats to the final round from the one-meter board in the NCAA Zone C Championships Friday night. Haleigh Bartlett and MaryRose Hillstrom each qualified out of the preliminary round to compete in the evening’s final session.

Despite their performances, the ladies missed the opportunity to compete at the 2013 NCAA Championships next weekend.

Bartlett posted a score of 265.55 in the preliminary round, as Hillstrom contributed a score of 256.85 to advance to the evening matchups. Bartlett placed 17th in the tournament while Hillstrom placed 16th.

In the final round, Bartlett scored 249.40 points, which resulted in a 12-dive score of 514.95 to finish 15th overall. Hillstrom scored 245.70 points in the final round to end with a 12-dive score of 511.55 that placed her in the 16 spot.

The top three finishers in this competition were those to advance to the 2013 NCAA Championships.

Morgain Srail and Kristin Capcik also participated in the one-meter dive Friday night for Ohio University. Srail finished 27th in the preliminary round while Capcik finished 32nd. Srail and Capcik finished with scores of 244.70 and 240.00, respectively.
