Two Circleville women were arrested following a SWAT raid on a South Washington Street home Friday afternoon.

Rebekah L. Evans, 31, and Jacqueline N. Groves, 23, were both taken to jail around 2:30 p.m. on drug-related charges.

The Circleville SWAT team, with the assistance of the Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office and U.S. 23 Major Crimes Task Force, served a warrant on Evans for trafficking heroin at her 1010 S. Washington St. home.

According to police, the task force was tipped off to illegal activity at the house earlier this summer and performed two undercover buys. In recent weeks, police began surveillance on the home and obtained a search warrant on information that there could be a meth lab at the location.

When police raided the home Friday, they did, in fact, find a duffel bag full of meth-making ingredients in the attic as well as a loaded heroin needle and crack pipe on Groves. She has been charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

Evans faces charges of manufacturing meth since the ingredients were found in her home.

Another woman was visiting the home during the raid, but police found nothing on her or in her vehicle to warrant charges.

They are, however, seeking another subject in the case.
