< < Back to ohio-university-business-school-professor-arrestedAn assistant professor in the Ohio University College of Business has been arrested on child pornography charges.
Amol T. Kharabe, 41, was arrested at his Dublin home Monday night after police executed a warrant issued from Athens.
WBNS 10TV in Columbus reports that the Franklin County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force contacted Ohio University Police in the fall when an account was discovered on the University's network accessing child porn.
The Columbus television station said detectives with Athens Police were contacted and in late September executed a search warrant on Kharabe's Richland Avenue apartment.
Several devices were taken from the apartment and sent to the BCI Crime Lab.
While Kharabe teaches at OU, his primary residence is in Dublin where he lives with his wife and children.
An Ohio University spokesperson said the University was made aware of the arrest and placed "the faculty member" on administrative leave.
