Parkersburg Administration Wants $1 MillIon For New Equipment
< < Back to parkersburg-administration-wants-1-million-new-equipmentCity Council members in Parkersburg examined the proposed 2014-2015 municipal budget Tuesday, questioning several aspects of the $26 million spending plan.
The Parkersburg News and Sentinel reports that the administration is proposing over $1 million in the purchasing or leasing of new equipment including 10 police cruisers, three dump trucks, one fire truck, one fire truck chassis and a vehicle of the fire department duty officer.
According to finance director Ashley Flowers, this expenditure will cause the city's $1 million debt to increase.
The departments drawing the biggest portion of the budget are police and fire, both just over $6 million.
Details of the budget will be discussed further on Thursday.
