Man Involved In Shooting Class Accident Pleaded Not Guilty
< < Back to man-involved-shooting-class-accident-pleaded-not-guiltyA central Ohio instructor who accidentally shot an adult student in the arm during a concealed-carry firearms class has pleaded not guilty to a misdemeanor count of negligent assault.
An attorney entered the plea Tuesday in Fairfield County Municipal Court on behalf of 74-year-old Terry Dunlap Sr., a Violet Township trustee.
Dunlap's attorney, Richard Ricketts, didn't immediately respond to a message seeking comment.
A special prosecutor earlier concluded that Dunlap should not be charged with any felony for the August shooting during a demonstration near Lancaster.
Dunlap had been certified to teach such firearms classes. He said he would not teach for at least a year after the shooting under an agreement with the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission
