Former Meigs County Deputy Arrested

Former Meigs County Sheriff Deputy Robert P. Tate was wanted for theft and resisting arrest.
Authorities say the 34-year-old was fired and refused to turn in his equipment, including uniforms and a bullet proof vest.
Washington County Sheriff Larry Mincks says the items were worth $1,000.
Meigs County deputies attempted to meet with Tate Friday.
The ex-deputy is accused of fleeing and wrecking his car in Coolville.
Athens and Washington County deputies helped in the search.
Tate called in to surrender around 4:00 Friday afternoon.
He was arrested without incident.
He is in custody without bond.
