1) Point Pleasant Big Blacks (6-0)

The Big Blacks maintain their top spot among our West Virginia teams and picked up their 19th straight regular-season victory with a 49-0 shutout of Parkersburg South last Friday.

2) Parkersburg South Patriots (3-2)

After being held to only 114 yards of total offense against Point Pleasant last week, the Patriots are looking to bounce back this week against John Marshall, who is also coming off a loss.  South quarterback Garrett Gilkeson and the Patriots are hitting the road for the second straight week.

3) Williamstown Yellow Jackets (4-2)

The Yellow Jackets suffered their second straight loss on Friday in devastating fashion as Jacket quarterback Dakota Watson slipped at the one-yard line during the possible game-tying two-point conversion attempt. Despite the failed attempt, Watson still functioned as the backbone for Jackets, finishing with 327 of the team’s 353 yards of offense.  The Jackets need to utilize this week’s bye to focus on creating a more balanced offense.

4) Parkersburg Big Reds (2-3)

The Big Reds bring up the bottom of the pack of our West Virginia teams, losing 45-20 against class AAA No. 5-ranked South Charleston last Friday night and dropping to 0-3 in the Mountain State region. The Big Reds rallied to score two touchdowns in the final quarter, but were still unable to bridge the gap.  So far this season the Big Reds have been outscored 179-147, but they will be looking to get back to the .500 mark this week.
