Broader Marijuana Legalization Measure Detailed In Ohio
< < Back to broader-marijuana-legalization-measure-detailed-in-ohioSupporters of marijuana legalization in Ohio have finalized their proposal and begun collecting signatures for a 2016 ballot campaign.
A spokesman for the Cleveland-based group Ohioans to End Prohibition says petition circulators were at baseball’s Opening Day in Cincinnati on Monday.
Jason Wagner says his group’s proposed amendment would provide more cannabis access than a competing proposal by a different group, Responsible Ohio. Wagner says his group’s proposal would allow virtually anyone to grow and use small amounts of recreational marijuana at home. People with HIV, post-traumatic stress disorders, cancer and other eligible health conditions could get medicinal-grade cannabis in higher quantities.
Responsible Ohio’s proposal would establish authorized growing locations around the state.
Both issues would impose marijuana taxes.
Wagner’s group hopes to gather initial signatures by month’s end.
