Twenty-eight-year-old Stewart Kitchen didn’t enter a plea during arraignment Thursday in Franklin County Municipal Court. His $50,000 bond was posted, and he was expected to be released from jail.
Court records didn’t list an attorney for him.
Court documents allege Kitchen and a woman went out drinking April 15, then returned to his Columbus home. The documents say Kitchen refused to return her to her home and sexually assaulted her.
Kitchen led the band as drum major in 2006-07. He’s now a drum major instructor, teaching leaders of the band.
The university says Kitchen is on administrative leave, and it launched an internal investigation.
