A 14-year-old and the 17-year-old are at a Juvenile Detention Center after being charged in a reported home invasion in Glouster allegedly involving weapons.

The names of the juveniles have not been released because they are minors, but the 14-year-old has been charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery. The 17-year-old has been charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and felonious assault, according to Glouster Mayor Miles Wolf, who released a statement Thursday evening.

Deputies from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to 140 Allen Road in Glouster when a home invasion was reported. The Glouster Police Department was also alerted.

According to the statement by Wolf, a male guest at the residence awoke to two males wearing dark clothing standing in the bathroom of the residence.

“A struggle ensued between one of the intruders and the guest,” Wolf wrote. “The guest sustained a knife wound on his hand during the struggle.”

The two males fled the residence before law enforcement arrived. Items that were allegedly stolen and additional evidence was recovered by investigators outside the home.

“After searching for a short time, two male juveniles, along with some of the stolen merchandise,  were found asleep in the neighborhood in a vehicle,” the release stated.

Both juveniles are reported to be Glouster-area residents. A detention hearing has been scheduled for both in the Athens County Juvenile  Court. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, but the juveniles are scheduled for an initial appearance next week.
