An Athens woman who allegedly intentionally set fire to a home has pleaded to an indictment in Athens County Common Pleas Court and now has a million-dollar bond.

Lisa May, 34, entered a plea of not guilty to five counts of aggravated arson and one count of intimidation. Judge George McCarthy agreed to a $1 million bond with no 10 percent allowed, according to a news release by the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators executed a search warrant on Dec. 16 at 70 Westfield Place, the home of Lili Chandler and her family, with the assistance of the Ohio State Fire Marshal’s Office. Chandler is also listed as the victim in a separate criminal case in which May was indicted for two counts of theft. She was indicted by an Athens County grand jury for the alleged thefts on Nov. 2.

May is currently being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

A jury trial is scheduled for Jan. 26.
