Black Named Player of the Week

Kiyanna Black was named MAC East Player of the Week for herrecent performances against Eastern Michigan and Central Michigan.
Against the Chippewas on Saturday, Black had a career game. Her career-high 39 points led the Bobcats to a come-from-behind 86-84 overtime victory. She scored 34 points in the second half and overtime to fuel the comeback. Black was efficient in that game, as she shot 50 percent from the field and committed just one turnover.
Black had another solid performance earlier in the win over Eastern Michigan, which entered the game as the only team other than Ohio undefeated in MAC play. She played 39 of the game’s 40 minutes and scored 17 points.
Black’s performance last week is even more admirable because of the games they came in. She was the only Bobcat to score double digits against Central Michigan, and her 17 points were crucial in the rematch from last year’s MAC Tournament Championship game.
Black and the rest of the Bobcats will be in action again Wednesday when they hit the road to take on Kent State.
