Walters And Dawson Earn Ohio Scholar Athletes of the Week

Senior wrestler Cody Walters and junior swimmer Laura Dawson have been named the Ohio scholar athletes of the week by the Ohio athletic department.
Walters helped lead the wrestling team past Northern Illinois and Buffalo in dominant fashion, winning 7-1 and 5-2 respectively. Walters is ranked 11th in the country in the 174-pound weight class and recently won his 100th career victory as a Bobcat. He is studying physical education where he has a 3.273 GPA.
Dawson destroyed her opponents en route to four first-place finishes this past week. The Bobcats went 2-1 over two matches, where Dawson won the 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley. She also was apart of the winning 400-yard medley relay team. Dawson has a 3.643 GPA in the psychology department.
Both students will be nominated for the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athletes of the Week award.
