Ohio Football’s Smith Added to Biletnikoff Watch List

Senior Ohio University wide receiver Sebastian Smith has been named to the 2016 Biletnikoff Award Pre-Season Watch List, the award committee announced Wednesday.
Smith led the Bobcats in almost every receiving category this past season, including receiving yards (777), yards per game (59.8), receptions (65) and touchdowns (7). All of those are career highs for the 6-foot-3 Smith.
In all, Smith is one of eight Mid-American Conference receivers named to this year’s pre-season watch list.
The Biletnikoff Award is given to “the season’s outstanding college receiver, regardless of position” and is presented by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc.
Throughout the season, players are added and subtracted from the award watch list based on performance.
The Biletnikoff Award winner and semifinalists are chosen by a committee of national media members, “eminent receivers” and past winners.
Past winners include Randy Moss, Larry Fitzgerald, Braylon Edwards and Calvin Johnson.
