James Michael Barr, 33, was indicted on three counts of rape and three counts of domestic violence by the grand jury. The rape counts are first-degree felonies and the domestic violence counts are first-degree misdemeanors, according to a press release by the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office.
The prosecutor’s office said Barr allegedly caused physical harm and sexually assaulted a woman between June 11 and June 24. He is also accused of assaulting a girl younger than ten years old on Sept. 22, according to the release.
Barr is being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail on a hold on a probation violation, according to jail records.
Arraignment in the case is scheduled for Oct. 5.
