Athens Bulldogs Have A Rough Week
< < Back to athens-bulldogs-have-a-rough-weekThe Athens Lady Bulldogs have had a difficult week this week as they lost in both their games against River Valley and Nelsonville York. The team had a close game on Monday against River Valley with a final score of 42-35. Their game on Thursday resulted in a 49-28 loss against the Buckeyes. Kaylee Stewart was among the leading scorers on Thursday for the Bulldogs with 11 points. Olive Harter also had 9 points against NY and all of her points came from three point shots. Although they may not have won this week, coach McNeal said that their main goal for the season is not necessarily to win, but to consistently be improving and be competitive.
The boys, however did see a win this week. They started their week off slow with a 78-59 loss to Vinton County on Tuesday but the Bulldogs used that loss to help them improve. They came out on Friday night and beat Nelsonville York 73-56. Griffin Lutz was a main contributor to the team’s success as he had 29 points. Both the Boys and Girls teams will play Jackson on Saturday.
