Vinton County Vikings, Waterford Wildcats Find Spots In OHSAA State Polls

In the division two state poll, the Vinton County Vikings (17-1) come in at the number six ranking with 74 points. This is the fourth week in a row in which the Vikings have been ranked sixth. Vinton County is just behind Ottawa-Glandorf, who is in fifth on 75 points but are ahead of Kettering Alter who are on 73 points.
The Vikings are the only TVC-Ohio team ranked, and have one more TVC-Ohio matchup this week. The Vikings will host the Alexander Spartans who are responsible for Vinton County’s only loss. The Spartans defeated the them in a close 73-71 victory.
The Waterford Wildcats (13-3) are the only other boys team in the state rankings and are the Hocking Divisions only representative. The Wildcats are ranked tenth on 44 points. They are positioned just behind Fort Loramie who sit on 48 points and the Wildcats are ranked ahead of West Unity Hilltop who have 30 points.
This is the Wildcats first appearance in the state polls this season. They will attempt to win the Hocking division first on Friday as they play Eastern at home.
