One Person Dead After Officer-Involved Shooting In Pike County

Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader says a deputy tried to pull over a vehicle for a traffic stop around 4am. After a short pursuit, the vehicle pulled into the driveway at 13324 State Route 24.
Three suspects attempted to run away. One suspect was shot and killed after getting into a fight with the deputy.
Reader says the deputy was transported to Adena Pike Hospital to treat minor injuries and has been released.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the BCI Crime Unit have taken over the investigation. A search warrant is being issued for to possess the vehicle at 13324 State Route 24.
Western Local School District closed classes because of the shooting.
