Two Cases of COVID-19 Confirmed in Belmont County
< < Back to two-cases-of-covid-19-confirmed-in-belmont-countyST. CLAIRSVILLE, Ohio — Two cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Belmont County.
According to the Belmont County Health Department, a husband and wife in their 50’s tested positive after health officials there conducted the swab Wednesday.
Deputy Health Commissioner Rob Sproul said the two had traveled to Washington D.C. for a political conference.
They reached out to the health department after learning about a Cuyahoga County man who earlier this week tested positive after attending the AIPAC conference.
The two are currently being quarantined in their home and have not been hospitalized at this time.
The Belmont County Health Department is investigating people who may have come into contact with them.
Gov. Mike DeWine announced earlier today there are 13 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state, including the Belmont County cases.
