Vinton County Becomes Last County To See COVID-19 Cases
< < Back to vinton-county-becomes-last-county-to-see-covid-19-casesMcARTHUR , Ohio — (WOUB) The Vinton County Health Department is reporting that there are 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19.
According to a press release posted on their Facebook page, “Both individuals were contacts of a positive out-of-county case.” The patients have been self-isolating and will be monitored by the health department.
As of Saturday, 35 people in Vinton County have been tested, 29 have come back negative and 4 tests are still pending.
Vinton is the last of Ohio’s 88 counties to have confirmed coronavirus cases.
The Ohio Department of Health makes the following recommendations to protect yourself from illness:
- Wash hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds; dry hands with a clean towel or air dry hands.
- Use alcohol-based hand sanitizer when soap and water are unavailable.
- Cover your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when sneezing or coughing. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Avoid contact with people who are sick.
