< < Back to a-new-era-for-dance-education-fss-prepares-for-in-person-classesFactory Street Studio (37 Ohio Avenue, Athens) like so many other businesses right now, is preparing to welcome people into their space after months of necessary closure in response to the COVID-19 crisis.
WOUB spoke to Angelica Bell, Factory Street Studio’s artistic director, about the studio’s recently announced summer class lineup, which will incorporate a hybrid approach to online and in-person classes. The studio is implementing a number of new measures for the safety of students and instructors, including mandatory face masks for all people at all times in the studio; a cap on the number of students who can be in each class (eight students maximum for summer classes, and the studio is considering lowering that number for four students going into the fall and winter); deep cleaning protocol in between classes; creating circles for each dancer to dance in that are six feet in diameter and placed 10 feet apart from other dancers, and more.
