101-Year-Old PBT Hopes Livestream Campaign Can Assist With Next 100 Days
< < Back to 101-year-old-pbt-hopes-livestream-campaign-can-assist-with-next-100-daysThe Peoples Bank Theatre (222 Putnam St.) in Marietta has served the surrounding communities for 101 years in a wide variety of ways. Like all other performing arts venues throughout the nation, the theatre is facing financial uncertainty in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis.
WOUB Culture spoke to Todd Burge, regional singer-songwriter and talent buyer for the Peoples Bank Theatre, about the venue’s 100 Days for 100 Years livestream fundraising campaign. Throughout the upcoming weeks, the theatre will continue to livestream free performances from their stage, presenting an option to the public to donate to the theatre, which hopes to raise $100,000 by August 1, 2020. The funds will be used to cover fixed costs, such as utilities, as well as the financial ramifications of reopening the theatre in accordance with the state’s safe reopening guidelines.
Check out the current lineup for the series, below, and listen to WOUB’s conversation with Burge, embedded above. Find out ways to donate to the campaign at this link.
