Update: Licking Co. Man Charged With Additional Rapes

Bryan C. Sattelmyer is now charged with raping a 10-year-old and an 18-year-old female, in addition to the original charge of raping a 13 year-old girl.

On Monday, a grand jury indicted the 45 year-old on six counts of rape, three counts of gross sexual imposition, and one count of having weapons while under disability. According to the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, Sattelmyer has been convicted of a violent offence, making him ineligible to possess firearms.

Authorities allegedly found evidence of multiple offenses, two rifles and a pistol at Sattelmyer’s home after he was arrested Friday.

The case was investigated by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, Licking County Job and Family Services, Athens County Prosecutor’s Office and the Newark Police Department.

The Columbus Police Department and Athens County Prosecutor’s Office arrested Bryan Sattlemyer, 45, Friday at the Easton Town Center Lowe’s in Franklin County. A search warrant was executed at his Newark residence.

The complaint filed against Sattlemeyer charged him with raping a 13-year-old girl at the Ohio University Inn while he was working on a project in Athens.

“The Prosecutor’s office is aware of additional alleged misconduct, additional potential victims, and additional charges are under consideration as the investigation continues,” according to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.

Sattlemeyer is being held in Franklin County while awaiting extradition.

The investigation is a multi-agency effort including the in Athens County Sheriff’s Office, Children Services and Prosectuor’s Office and the Newark Police Department.
