The members of The Chivalrous Crickets hail from wildly diverse musical backgrounds that make for a fresh interpretation of what it means to utilize traditional, Celtic, Appalachian, folk, Baroque, and even Renaissance sounds in an entirely contemporary way.
On a recent Zoom call, band members Ben Stewart, Paul Morton, Ben Matus, Genevieve King, and Fiona Gillespie told WOUB Culture about the recording of The Pavorreal Sessions, blending their unique musical heritages, and what they hope they can bring to both contemporary and “purist” musical communities.
