Vinton County continued to utilize the run game to the final minutes of the first quarter as Zayne Karr took the snap on the reverse for a 17-yard rushing touchdown.
In the first minutes of the second quarter, the Vikings ran the ball down to the 4-yard line for Damron to again drive through the Golden Rocket’s D-line for a Vinton County TD. Another rushing touchdown by Viking’s Broc Moore and the half would end 28-0, Vinton County.
In the second half, Wellston would pick up their only touchdowns of the game. Keeping the ball on the ground, #7 Isaac Molihan racked up both touchdowns, first with a 1-yard run and next with a 5-yard run. However, the Vikings run game and blocking were unmatched as Vinton County would go on to win this game 43-15 successfully bringing home the trophy for the “Battle for the Tracks.”
