< < Back to meigs-flies-past-circleville-in-their-first-playoff-gamePomeroy, Ohio (WOUB) — The Meigs Lady Marauders came out to their first tournament game with a roaring student section and hosting the Circleville Tigers. The first quarter of the game was a huge win for the Meigs offense with the whole starting lineup all getting on the stat sheet.
The Marauders entered the game strong nailing seven three pointers in the first half alone with Maggie Musser and Jennifer Parker both having a big night, each hitting major three pointers consistently throughout the game.
However, we cannot forget about the huge presence of senior, Mallory Hawley having a huge game on both sides of the court. Hawley had 9 rebounds and scored 12 points throughout the game.
The Circleville girls however came back with a surprising boost of energy to start the third quarter, but it was not enough to come back from the huge start by the Marauders. Mallory Hawley got a second wind in the second half even making a huge chase down block to save a Circleview bucket.
With the roaring Marauders student section, and many of the Marauders girls getting on the scoreboard Circleview just could not keep up. The Meigs Marauders finished off the Circleview Tigers with an ending score of 73-45.
Coach Hudson was very proud of the girl’s big win saying, “normally we have been up and down the whole year, but they just kept their nose to the wheel and kept grinding away”.
With a huge win for the Meigs Marauders girls basketball team, Coach Hudson and the Marauders student section can all have something to be happy about.
