FRANKLIN FURANCE, OHIO (WOUB) — The playoff season in Region 27 begins in as the Green Bobcats host their SOC-I rival the Norte Dame Titans. This an historic game for the Bobcats as for the first time in school history hosting a playoff game in Franklin Furnace.

The hopes for the Bobcats were expecting to avenge the loss against the Titans and move on to the next round of the playoffs.

The hopes for the Bobcats unfortunately were not in vain as the Titans took this one away from Green in a 45-36 victory in this very close matchup.

In the first quarter, the Titans were able to get on the board early from Dylan Seison and capitalized on the next kickoff with an onside kick and recovered the kick.

The Titans proceeded to score from it with a touchdown from Gavin Hart. In the end, Norte Dame would score on all three of there drives and adding another successful onside kick to make it two in the first.

In the second quarter, the Bobcats started to recover, as Abe McBee would score the next two touchdowns for Green bringing green as close to two points nearing the end of the half.

McBee for the night would have a total four touchdowns for the Bobcats. As the quarter was winding down, Seison would catch an unexpected touchdown putting the score at the half 31-22.

The second half was beginning to look like a close finish, but the Titans put a stop towards the Green offense with them finding a way to stop the Bobcats run.

Green started the 4th quarter in the lead 36-31, but the Titans had other plans however.Notre Dame would continue to score with an onslaught of offense including a kick return touchdown and break away runs.

The succeeding number of points from the Titans looked to be too much for Green to handle in this 8 seed vs 9 seed playoff matchup.

With this win, the Titans go 2-0 against the Bobcats for the year showing that they still have the skills to defeat the Bobcats.

For the Titans though with the win, they will now have to take on the Newark Catholic Green Wave in the next round, who have been a dominant number 1 seed in Region 27.

The Titans are going to have to pull out everything out of the playbook next week against the Green Wave to continue to advance into the playoffs.
