In the Pines 2022 Nelsonville Music Festival Sycamore Session

NELSONVILLE, Ohio (WOUB) — Cincinnati- based band In The Pines brought their own brand of progressive-tinged rock to their Sycamore Session during the 2022 Nelsonville Music Festival.

The five-piece band is composed of Michael Shular (vocals, guitar), Charlie Horn (guitar), Alex Dugan (drums), Alex Main (bass) and new addition Peter Foley (synths). They have released two full-length albums: “Impossible Daze” (Soul Step Records) and “Slow Blink” (Soul Step Records).  The band quickly started to perform, starting with three cuts from their 2022 “Impossible Daze” record: “Brother,”  “Well I’ll Be,” and “I Don’t Mind.”

The band’s energy didn’t waver as they performed the opening track from “Impossible Daze,” “Bird Song.” They finished off their Sycamore Session with “Mirage,” and “Under Your Chin” from 2021’s “Slow Blink.”

The Sycamore Sessions are presented by the Nelsonville Music Festival in collaboration with WOUB Public Media and the Ohio University Scripps College of Communication’s School of Media Arts and Studies. The performances were recorded and produced by Media Arts and Studies students under the supervision of Host and Director Josh Antonuccio and Associate Producers – Director of Photography Andie Walla (Media Arts and Studies Associate Professor of Instruction), Audio Supervisor Adam Rich (WOUB), and WOUB’s Arts and Culture Editor Emily Votaw. All performances took place during the 2022 Nelsonville Music Festival, which is a production of Stuart’s Opera House.
