ATHENS, OH – For the first time post-pandemic, Gridiron Glory (GG) is reintroducing Media Day to bring players and coaches from roughly 60 high school football teams across Southeast Ohio to Ohio University’s campus. It will be held on Sunday, August 13. The last one was held in August of 2019. This is the fifth time GG has held this event.

“Media Day gives players and coaches an opportunity to meet Gridiron reporters and lay out their aspirations and expectations for the upcoming season,” said WOUB Sports Editor and Studio Production Manager Molly Kennedy. “Gridiron Glory Media Day is an opportunity for the high school football players of Southeast Ohio to get media coverage they deserve, while also helping our young reporters learn about the teams they will be covering.”

Players will have their pictures taken and will be interviewed about the upcoming season, along with any other questions the reporters may have. Coaches will participate in a roundtable discussion with this year’s GG Host Grayson Wolf serving as the moderator. In addition to the interviews and photos, all guests will receive a complimentary Gridiron Glory sweat towel with the GG Media Day logo.

The event will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and lunch will be provided. The players will also be able to participate in a trivia game and video game tournament.

Gridiron Glory’s season premiere is Friday, Aug. 18, at 11:30 p.m.
