Jackson Ironmen dominate Miami Trace in one sided victory
< < Back toWASHINGTON COURT HOUSE, Ohio (WOUB) – Jackson rode into Miami Trace on Friday night in a game that could very well decide the FAC champion in 2023.
With both above .500 and sporting undefeated records heading into week seven, the stakes were as high as they could be. It would ultimately be Jackson that would take this one in dominating fashion, as the Ironmen won by a final score of 42-13.
After a Miami Trace three-and-out to start the game, Jackson wasted no time getting down the field and took the lead on a 43-yard Nolan Johnson rushing touchdown to go up 7-0.
The Ironmen forced another short Miami Trace drive and took advantage once again, as Cade Wolford got his big night going with his first touchdown of the game from four yards out, going up 14-0.
After another opportunity wasted by the Panthers, Jackson made the most of the opportunity, as Wolford scored his second touchdown of the game, this time through the air. A spectacular grab put the Ironmen up 21-0.
Miami Trace was able to find some life, as a trick play that was caught by Cooper Enochs had the Panthers trailing just 21-7.
Jackson’s offense could not be stopped in the first half, as Wolford found the end zone for the third time in the half, with this one coming on a run from Jackson territory. Advantage to Jackson, 28-7.
Wolford continued a dominant half to close out the second quarter, this time with a nine yard rushing touchdown to go up 35-7 heading into half.
Jackson would finish the job and win by a final score of 42-13, moving to 6-1 on the season.
