Students win 2024 College Student Production Award for WOUB’s “Gridiron Glory”
< < Back to students-win-2024-college-student-production-award-for-woubs-gridiron-gloryATHENS, OH – A group of eight current and former WOUB students won an Ohio Valley Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences 2024 College Student Production Award for their work on Gridiron Glory (Season 24, Episode 12) in the Sports Story/Segment, Sports Program, or Live Sporting Event Category. Adam Schlosser, Grayson Wolf, Parker Kopronica, Audrey Paquette, Aidan Cagna, Cameron Knupp, Alex Michalec and Andrew Bowlby were announced as the winners during a virtual ceremony on Sunday, August 18. WOUB News Editor-in-Chief Atish Baidya was the advisor for the group.
Parker Kopronica, Shane Scalfaro, Andrew Bowlby, Aidan Cagna and Tim Hanna were also nominated in the same category for Hardwood Heroes (Season 14, Episode 4).
“Congratulations to all of the students who were nominated and to the students who won for Gridiron Glory. It’s such an honor,” said WOUB Editor-in-Chief Atish Baidya. “We know how meaningful our high school football coverage is to the communities we serve. This award is recognition of not just the hard work of everyone at WOUB involved with the production but of the teams and communities that welcome us with open arms.”
Gridiron Glory is a weekly half-hour high school football program that airs on WOUB TV Friday nights at 11:30 p.m. during high school football season. The show is starting its 25th season tonight (Friday, August 23).
