Man In Custody After Reported Shooting Incident With Deputies

UPDATE 1:55 p.m. Franklin Green's arraignment is set for Wednesday at 10 a.m., according to Athens County Prosecutor Keller Blackburn.
He was indicted in January on felonious assault charges, and that's why deputies went to arrest him Monday.
No new charges have been filed after Green allegedly shot at deputies, but more could come after the Athens County Grand Jury meets.
The next session is Monday, but because the investigation is ongoing, the grand jury may not take up the case until a later meeting.
UPDATE 6:45 p.m. No one was hurt when an Athens man shot at sheriff's deputies Monday afternoon, according to Athens County Sheriff Pat Kelly.
Deputies were on their way to arrest Franklin Green just before 2 p.m.
Sheriff Kelly says Green came out of his home on Fisher Road and fired multiple rounds at the Special Response Team vehicle as it pulled into the man's driveway.
Some of those shots shattered the windshield.
Sheriff Kelly says the 34-year-old also used his rifle to fire five shots at a deputy's vehicle.
A canine was in the back but wasn't hit.
Deputies "did not have a chance to return fire" before Green went back into his house.
When authorities called Green, he "advised everyone they needed to go home if they wanted to see their families because they will not go home alive."
Fifteen minutes later, deputies launched four cans of gas.
They had trouble establishing contact with Green for some time.
The man picked up the phone at 3:05 p.m., and Sheriff Kelly talked with him for 30 minutes before he surrendered.
The Washington County Sheriff's Office is handling the investigation since Athens county deputies were the allegedly targeted in the shooting.
Despite "a lot of damage" to vehicles, Sheriff Kelly says "our guys are all safe."
One man has been taken into custody following a barricade along Fisher Road in Athens County.
Shots were reportedly fired at law enforcement and the windows of Athens County Sheriff cruisers were shot out.
The Logan-Hocking Special Response team was called out to assist at the scene.
It is unclear if there are any injuries.
