Rioting Charges Dropped In Ohio Fatal Beating
< < Back to rioting-charges-dropped-ohio-fatal-beatingSome charges have been dropped against four people accused in a central Ohio neighborhood riot that left a 21-year-old woman dead. But a prosecutor said they could face more serious charges later.
Four adults and two juveniles were charged with aggravated rioting after the March brawl in a Circleville neighborhood led to the fatal beating of Brittany Jeffers.
Prosecutor Judy Wolford dropped the charges against the four adults, but she tells the Circleville Herald that new charges could be filed based on a coroner's report that ruled Jeffers' death a homicide.
She wouldn't provide details but said any new charges will be considered by the county grand jury later. Two 17-year-olds still face rioting charges.
Police said the brawl started when two teens began fighting in the street.
