Gilleland Named MAC Scholar Athlete Of The Week

Ohio's star setter Abby Gilleland was named Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week. Gilleland, who was an All-MAC Freshman Team honoree a year ago, led the Bobcats in assists last season.
In the past week, Gilleland helped lead the Bobcats to a victory in the Oregon Classic, taking MVP honors. Ohio defeated the No. 8 Oregon Ducks and failed to lose a set over the weekend, taking nine straight in three matches.
Gilleland, who is a sophomore nursing major has put together a 3.812 cumulative GPA in her time at Ohio University, while turning in outstanding play on the court.
Gilleland and the Bobcats will play host to three teams this weekend in the Baymont Inn Invitational. They will take on Cincinnati, No. 24 North Carolina and Dayton over the course of the weekend.
