Hutchinson, Geiger Run Wild in Win over Wahama
< < Back to hutchinson-geiger-run-wild-in-win-over-wahamaCrown City, Ohio hosted a somber atmosphere tonight following the death of long term PA-announcer Wayne Harrison. Often, sports provide a spark of light through trial.
South Gallia’s Landon Hutchinson and Isaiah Geiger provided the power need to blow past the Wahama White Falcons (3-5, 2-5) 54-19.
Hutchinson and Geiger combined for a whopping 427 yards, 206 and 221, respectively, on top of four rushing touchdowns. Hutchinson tacked on 90 yards and two touchdowns through the air, in addition to an interception for a touchdown.
South Gallia blew the game open quickly, carrying a 33-12 lead into the half.
While its numbers did not stack up to those of South Gallia’s, Wahama did manage to muster up 180 yards on the ground with Jared Nutter carrying the load. Wahama found success moving the ball, but it struggled when it mattered most in the red zone, largely because of South Gallia’s offensive stars putting in work on defense.
Geiger and Hutchinson combined for 20.5 tackles and a sack, on top of Hutchinson’s aforementioned pick-six.
Wahama will look to find rhythm when it hosts Miller. South Gallia will look to top the .500 mark next week against South Gallia.
