Area Schools Delayed, Some Closed With Cold Weather

All Athens County schools resumed Tuesday morning after an early March snow storm canceled classes Monday.
The still cold temperatures and remaining ice and snow on secondary roads were causing some delays.
Those on a two-hour delay were Alexander, Beacon School, Federal Hocking, Nelsonville-York, and Trimble.
On a one-hour delay were Athens Head Start and Nelsonville Head Start.
Morgan Local, Caldwell, Noble Local and Marietta City Schools were also on a two-hour delay.
A few school systems remained closed Tuesday morning in area hit harder by Monday's snowfall.
Those systems not opening were Jackson City, Portsmouth and Vinton County Schools.
