Athens Police Get Arrest Warrants For 2 People In Connection With House Fire
< < Back to ?p=16754According to The Athens News, Athens police are looking for two people in connection to a February fire at a house on Stewart Street, which was previously deemed "suspicious."
The report claims police have obtained search warrants for two people, and that those individuals "appear" to be Ohio University students.

Records filed with the Athens County Municipal Court show that since Thursday, there have been active nationwide warrants out on Brian P. Manley, 19, of Clarence, N.Y., and Mark R. Norman, 20, of Worthington, Ohio. Both are facing charges of aggravated arson and burglary, first- and second-degree felonies respectively, in connection with a fire at 68 Stewart St., a 10-bedroom rental home, which took place in the early morning hours of Feb. 23. The house is located near OU's East Green dormitory area.
The warrants allege that in each case on Feb. 23, the man named in the warrant, "with an accomplice kicked (the) window in of 68 Stewart St. and entered the residence. Once in the house, a fire was ignited and caused extensive damage to the house and attached apartment, 68-1/2 Stewart St. Residents in the area had to be evacuated for their safety."
The News talked to landord Pam Hines, who said the two men are not the owners of the home and that she doesn't "know those guys." The warrant claims Manley might currently be in New York.
No one was hurt in the fire, which caused about $230,000 in damage to the 10-bedroom house.
