Ohio Adds Former Coach To Staff
< < Back to 168618This morning, women’s head basketball coach, Bob Boldon announced it has added Marwan Miller to its coaching staff for the 2016-2017 season.
“We are very excited to bring Marwan back to Ohio,” Boldon said.
Miller served last year as an offensive coordinator at Saint Francis (Pa.) and lead The Red Flash to an average of 74.5 point per game in a fast-paced system. As a result of the system, it lead to The Red Flash producing the 2016 NEC Freshman of the Year, Jessica Kovatch who averaged 20.9 points per game under Miller’s system.
Miller returns to Ohio after a year away from the school that saw him become an assistant coach in 2015 in addition to being a recruiter and delivered scouting reports during the regular season and MAC Tournament.
He comes back to a team that averaged 72.0 points a game last season and shot 40% from the field. Needless to say, Miller’s fast paced system hopefully can help improve the Bobcats offense this upcoming season that only connected on 30.7% of their three-point field goals and shot 68.2% from the free throw line.
Prior to his year at Saint Francis (Pa.) Miller served as a Director of Operations for Ohio from 2013-2015. At that time, he was responsible for logistics of traveling and planning and organizing camps.
Now, Miller is a part of a team that finished 26-7 (16-2 in conference play) last season and earned a number one seed in the MAC conference championship tournament, along with making it to the sweet sixteen in the NCAA tournament.
