Both Sides Of Issue 2 Make Final Push
< < Back to both-sides-issue-2-make-final-pushBoth sides are making their closing arguments on Ohio's collective bargaining law ahead of an election that will decide its fate.
Gov. John Kasich plans to lead rallies in support of the Issue 2 Monday evening in southwest Ohio's Clermont and Butler counties. Opponents also have events scheduled, including a union rally and door-to-door campaigning in Cleveland.
The issue on Tuesday's Ohio ballot asks whether to keep the law that Republican Kasich signed in March. It limits the collective bargaining rights of hundreds of thousands of public workers.
Kasich has said the law will help hold down taxes and make the state more appealing to business.
Former Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland called the measure an attack on working-class America during a rally Sunday in Toledo.
