Tri-Valley falls short in hard-fought game against Clinton-Massie

CLARKSVILLE, Ohio (WOUB)– The Tri-Valley Scotties made the long trip to compete against the Clinton-Massie Falcons. With both teams being strong, it was a game many looked forward to.
The Falcons found themselves with the ball and ended up in the red zone. On third and goal, quarterback Kaden Zantene threw a perfect pass that just went through the hands of Brighton Rodman. This forced Clinton-Massie to kick the field goal for the first score of the game.
The Scottie’s first possession was electric with quarterback Max Lyall handing off the ball to Jayden Wallace who ran 40 yards down the field. Wallace did not stop there; he helped his team get to the endzone and finally ran it in for the touchdown.
The Falcons responded to the touchdown with one of their own. The tight end Brighton Rodman extended his arm out for a Clinton-Massie Touchdown. The Falcons led 10-7 at halftime.
After Tri-Valley turned over on downs right after the half, Clinton-Massie ended up being forced to punt for the first time all game, although the Falcons had a different idea. Clinton-Massie ended up deciding to fake it and gained 37 yards. Cooper Carmack jumped over his defender and yanked down the ball for a Falcon touchdown, now leading 17-7.
After a nightmare possession by the Scotties, including an early snap that ruined the drive, Clinton-Massie punched in another touchdown, this time by Nolan Phipps.
Needing a strong possession, Tri-Valley moved down the field with a few strong receptions and runs. Ashton Sensibaugh caught it over his shoulder in the endzone for the final score of the evening, the Falcons would go on to win 24-14.
The Tri-Valley Scotties look to bounce back next Friday against Maysville at home.
