POINT PLEASANT, WV (WOUB)— Point Pleasant hosted the Warren Warriors in a classic rivalry game and won 44-13 in dominating fashion.

Point Pleasant would win the opening toss and defer, giving Warren the opening kickoff. That drive would immediately start slow and stall quickly, giving the ball back to Point Pleasant, who would also see little movement offensively.

On their second drive, however, Point Pleasant would begin to start rolling. They would start their drive with a short field after a short punt by Warren and would take advantage immediately. After moving the ball a short distance, quarterback Caden Hill would keep the snap and run it outside from about 20 yards out for a touchdown, putting Point Pleasant up 7-0.

Warren would appear to respond quickly after but would be held to a fourth down at the goal line. The Warriors would pick up the necessary yardage, but would fumble at the 1-yard line, which Point Pleasant would recover.

Point Pleasant would go on to drive down the field again and would cap off their drive with a short pass by Caden Hill to Reece Hunt in the flat, who would find space down the sideline and run it all the way in from midfield for a touchdown, putting Point Pleasant up 14-0.

This momentum would continue further on their next drive, as Point Pleasant would quickly score again with Issac Creel breaking multiple tackles and running it in from 13 yards out for the touchdown. It’s 20-0 Point Pleasant after the PAT is no good.

Warren’s offensive struggles would continue further, as they would be intercepted by Point Pleasant’s Asher Robinson, who would return the interception to the red zone. This strong field position would result in yet another Point Pleasant touchdown, on the QB keeper by Caden Hill from about 1 yard out. 27-0 Point Pleasant.

With only about 30 seconds left in the half, Warren would show they had some fight left in them, as Tanner Pepper catches a screen pass and runs it in from 80 yards out for the touchdown, cutting the lead to 27-7, which would be the score at half.

The Warriors would not keep this momentum into the second half, as Point Pleasant would continue to explode offensively, winning 44-13.

Point Pleasant (3-2) will travel to Marietta next week as they hope to build upon this win, while Warren (5-3) will host Fort Frye as they hope to bounce back from this loss.
