ATHENS, Ohio (WOUB) — After former Head Coach Jenna Hall left for Illinois, Ohio Softball has hired Paige McMenemy as its next head coach.
McMenemy spent the last five seasons as the head coach at Tiffin University, where she compiled a 152-106 record. Her last season with the Dragons featured a 34-16 record and was towards the top of the nation in both ERA and batting average. She also led Tiffin to two straight NCAA Regional Appearances, back-to-back G-MAC regular season championships, and won back-to-back G-MAC Coach of the Year awards.
McMenemy is a native of Westerville, Ohio, and has spent time both as a player and a coach in the Mid-American Conference. Her playing career began at Akron for two seasons and then at Ashland for another two. Over her career, she appeared in 91 games, throwing over 350 innings while holding a sub-4.00 ERA. After her playing days, McMenemy joined Toledo as an assistant coach, helping the Rockets win their first MAC Tournament Title.
She will inherit a Bobcat team coming off a MAC Tournament semi-finals appearance and a 38-20 overall record.
